The Browns plan to ban a fan from First Energy Stadium after investigations revealed they threw a bottle that hit Browns owner Jimmy Haslam at the end of Sunday’s loss to the Jets.
NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero shared a field-level video of Haslam being hit and looking up at the stands, while reporting that the team identified the fan through another video from inside the stadium. The team released a statement saying they shared the footage with authorities.
“The safety of fans, players and staff is of the highest priority in our building and behavior that endangers others will not be tolerated,” the Browns said in a statement. “Luckily no one was injured in this incident and by default we have worked with law enforcement agencies and security video footage of the object being thrown is in the right hands. We will not comment further on this.”
The Cleveland incident wasn’t the only one involving a fan and someone on the field from week two. A fan in Las Vegas punched Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray in the face after the winning touchdown in Arizona, resulting in a battery complaint with the Las Vegas Police Department.
