Tennis legend Roger Federer responded on Thursday to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s message to him after the 20-time Grand Slam champion retired. Federer, who announced his retirement earlier this month, played his farewell match at the 2022 Laver Cup, a doubles match alongside longtime rival and friend Rafael Nadal. Kohli labeled Federer the “greatest of all time” in an ATP video. Federer took to his official Instagram account to respond to Kohli’s video message.
“Thank you @virat.kohli. Hope to get to India soon,” Federer wrote on Kohli’s video message on his Instagram story.
In his video message to Federer, Kohli also paid tribute to the Swiss maestro’s tremendous contribution to the sport.
“Hello, Roger. It is a great honor for me to be able to forward this video for you and to congratulate you on a phenomenal career that has brought us so many beautiful moments and memories. I personally had the chance to meet you in the Australian Open in 2018 something I will never forget in my life One thing that struck me even watching you play was the fact that so many people all over the world, not just in the tennis world, were behind you and I’ve never seen that kind of unity in any other individual athlete. That’s something that can’t be created, can’t be generated in any way,” Kohli had said in the video.

I’m sure in the In the next phase of your life you will have as much fun and joy as on the pitch. I wish you and your family all the best too. Take care of yourself,” he added.
