Another week, another top performance from Splatoon 3.
Yes, the multiplayer sequel has hit number one again on the Japanese charts, with an additional 157,348 copies for Nintendo. It’s another drop from the previous week, but still miles ahead of The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II at number two, which managed a relatively modest (but still solid on its own) 36,261 units.
Elsewhere, FIFA 23 has entered the charts at number four – barely the runaway success compared to the UK, but still decent, and Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival managed to sell just 7,911 copies this week, dropping to number nine on the charts.

Looking at hardware for the week, the Switch once again leads the pack, but interestingly enough, the Switch Lite has specifically fallen a few places, behind all the PS5 and Xbox SKUs. Still, things are looking bright for the OLED model, with nearly 50,000 more sales for the week and a total of 3 million.
